The Bruce Shrine Club formed over 45 years ago, drawing its members from Masonic Lodges throughout Bruce County.
Being located in Southwestern Ontario we are Mocha Shriners with our temple (chapter) located in London Ontario, just one of nearly 200 temples worldwide. Nobles from the Bruce Shrine Club have and still do sit on the Mocha Divan and a number of our members have held the role of Potentate. We are an active club with full a calendar of fundraisers, parades, dinner meetings and social events.
Helping Children
Through the hard work of our members and generosity of the community we raise thousands of dollars every year to support our Shriners Hospitals. Monies also go to our local hospitals and hospices as well as funding to help children with special needs. The Bruce Shrine Club is also helping out with transportation to hospitals and health care facilities.
Having Fun
All of our get togethers are a good time but parades are a real joy and it is something we do well. The parade season usually starts with the Mocha spring Ceremonial where we get together with other Shrine Clubs for socializing, ceremony and a big parade. Throughout the summer we participate in Canada Day, home comings and special event parades. Then it is Fall Fair and Christmas parades. Making up our parade unit are the famous Trail Riders with their choregraphed maneuvers, our music wagon that gets everyone moving and grooving, clowns for a laugh and a golf cart full of Shriners just to make us look good.
